Woven Yoke Wrap

A variation from a garment featured in Andean Inspired Knits -- a book of patterns by Helen Hamann and published by Interweave Press -- this wrap has the same body as the first garment featured in the book, but the yoke has been modified so instead of having embroidered flowers, it has been woven using the surface weaving technique. The combination of the weaving with the rich colors is superb!

Gauge 20.5 sts and 24.5 rows - 4" in St st.

Yarn Helen Hamann LUXURY, 100% Superfine Alpaca -- 14 balls -- 2,576 yards (2,352 meters) of SFN50 (black) for the main color and for the embroidery on the yoke 1 skein/ball each in colors: 6314 (dill pickle), 5340 (vine green), 2250 (pumpkin), 0178 (chili pepper), 1177 (purple lotus) and 6087 (dark purple), color SFN33 (cocoa) is used for the outline.

Needle size US 5 (3.75 mm).
